Office Trick or Treat

October 29, 2008 Leave a comment

Dad’s office had their Halloween party today so the building on campus was full of little rocket men, lady bugs, whoopie cushions and of course little lions!  Dad blasted over to the Daycare to grab G, get him in his ‘new’ Lion Costume and back to his office for a quick tour.  It was then home for a photo shoot before naptime.

Mom is off at dinner with the ladies, so its a boys night in!

Beautiful Fall Weekend

It was a gorgeous autumn weekend and we took advantage of it on Saturday with a walk around Green Lake. It was a bit chilly so we all bundled up and, of course, stopped at Starbucks before heading off. The Green Lake Starbucks has one of the "infamous" Clover coffee machines. As the price was a lot more reasonable than expected (about $4), we just had to give it a go. Jeff was impressed but Daphne decided she’s not really a true coffee connoisseur and will stick to lattes, or pumpkin lattes or eggnog lattes, you get the idea…

Anyway, a great day to be outside in "our" panda hats. And check out G in his new forward facing car seat. He busted out of his infant one and there was no leg room to be found with the big boy seat facing backward. Oh, and Gav tried bananas. We think he managed to consume some…

Belated (Canadian) Thanksgiving pics

This year we went to the Hutton’s for a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. They truly pulled out all the stops. The pilgrim hats made a repeat performance and they stayed on about as long as they did last year. Something about the size of people’s heads… Maddie enjoyed her traditional Thanksgiving ham sandwich and Gav his bottle and then it was bed time for the little ones. The "grown ups" then got down to the business of eating – turkey, stuffing, mash, brussle sprouts, green beans and the ubiquitous pickle tray (a Wettlaufer tradition), etc.

Jeff finally got a bit of retribution over all the turkey carving ribbing he’s had over the past two years (something about using a hand grenade instead of a knife), with Cappy admitting it was more difficult than it looks. Time for us all to get our knives sharpened and maybe a carving course for the boys. Anyway, we had a great time – good food and fantastic hospitality as usual!

Mr. Core Stability

So Daph leans Gaver up next to his toy bin so he can ‘pick out a toy’ and the dude stands up by himself.  Ok, I don’t think he knew what he was doing, or how to do it again, but it makes for a pretty impressive picture.

Hanging with the G-man……

It was great to get home, Chicago is a long way away from Gaver (and mom) .  The weekend was spent hanging out and playing with Gavin.  We had a nice meal at the Huttons on Sat, but other than that, it was family time at home.  Some great pics and videos.  For example, we got G on top of moms shoulders for the first time, both loved that, and on Saturday we had a power outage from the massive wind storm, so Gaver had to put on his headlamp in case it got dark.  We also went for a lovely walk in a perfect fall morning in Bothell.  He loves doing this superman thing with his arms, when he is sleeping, or flying through the kitchen……..Daph also got a funny video of G working the daylights out of the Jump-A-Roo…the duude OWNED that thing……… Enjoy…
