Surviving (barely) week 3

Apologies to our regular readers for the delay in updates. Daphne is home alone with Gav and Jeff, the normal blogster, is back at work.

Daph and Gav are on a mission to get out, at least briefly, each day. It’s actually a lot harder than it sounds. On Tuesday they joined Lisa and Isobel in Kirkland for a much needed coffee, lunch and some time by the lake where Isy practiced her duck sounds. On Wednesday, they headed to the "snugglers class" at Evergreen Hospital for the weekly presentation. This week’s topic was Mother’s Day! Gav impressed the other (all older) babies with his set of lungs and ability to noisily fill a diaper. Nice!  Today’s project is/was to get our for a walk with Sally and Jackson. The first run at it was called due to rain but they are hoping to get out later this afternoon. Pic below is a brief moment of peace. Shhh…. baby is sleeping…

Congrats on surviving the first few days on your own.  I have been thinking of you.  This is the time when the sleep deprivation starts to really set in.  I know it\’s hard, but try to nap when he naps if you can.  Pierson\’s 13 months and I\’m still not caught up on sleep. (oops, maybe you didn\’t want to know that, sorry).  Anyway, I miss crashing for a few hours in the afternoon with boy.  I look back and realise I should have done a lot more of that.
    hugs, steph
