Gavin’s Birthday in Bothell
Some pics from Bothell in April, and Gavin’s birthday!
April 16th was Gavin’s 4th Birthday, and we celebrated in a few ways. We took a pile of cupcakes to BH, lead by Dad taking Gavin out to a huge pancake breakfast, and this coming weekend we are having a bowling party. More pics to come, there is a rumor some cousins are visiting!
Easter at 7Trees
The Wettlaufers, Damm’s and Elliotts met at 7Trees for a long weekend and Easter celebrations this year. It was a great weekend. The boys were just awesome together, playing and exploring, and sharing a room. (A little bit of playing, a whole lotta sleeping). The girls, still young, but turning into little ladies, were starting to engage more with each other. Still mostly playing near each other, but having fun. The adults were kept busy herding cats, maintaining peace among the little monsters, and (for most) enjoyed some nice wine.
The Easter egg hunt went well. Quickly actually, if you weren’t quick, you didn’t get many eggs. The fellas figured that our pretty quickly.
Anyways, it was awesome. We caught some low tides, so lots of walks and beach fun.
The Book from Soup……
Last month at TechReady, Soup (aka the gift meister) gave me a little something he had found in one of his travels (and his 200+ nights a year at Marriott). He said it was just something small, until he told me it required an extra large luggage bag.
What arrived at the restaurant table was the largest book I have seen in my life.
. Entitled ‘World War 2 Aircraft’ it is a massive 2’ x 2’ (yup, 2 foot by 2 foot, if not bigger) hard cover of over 150 pages of colorful planes, both drawings and photographs. Absolutely awesome.
Soup you are a great friend. Thank you. The book comes out every day at our house when the kids get home, one of Immy’s firsts word is ‘AIRPLANE’ and Gav is mesmerized by all the different types, colors, flags and shapes. Personal fav’s of his are the Spitfire, and ‘the one that landed on the beach’…….
And mom and dad? Well, I may actually just add some legs to the book and make it an actual coffee table book. ![]()
Thanks fella, well played.
Spring is Springing
As we crawl out of Winter, the weather barely allowing any hint of an end, the kids are continuing to hammer away with boundless energy. Spring soccer (football) started, and Immy is officially in her own class this round. She_loves_it.
Gav loves to read, he always has. One day at daycare pickup I caught him off on his own listening to an audio book. It was so cool to see him so engaged in the book. All the other kids were playing across the room with toys, but there he was. Awesome.
Immy is really turning into a little (ahem) girl. Like Gav, she loves the ‘buggy’ at Safeway. One day last week I took her alone with me, and she got to pilot one solo.
Soccer season has started. Immy even got her own jersey. These pics were taken with the phone, so pardon the quality.
Today I picked u Gav and he had taken in his bear. It ended up rather oddly placed. Then as we awaited mom in the lobby the team chowed down on their snack.
We got out for a Sunday walk with the Huttons, and enjoyed the weather. The kids even managed to stay on their bikes……
Lounging around the house……..
The many faces of Immy……..
Vancouver Weekend
The Wettlaufer’s headed to Vancouver for a weekend of family and fun. The kids got to blast around Osler Street, and the adults caught some shopping, dinner out and a Canucks game. Some (ahem) had a few more than others……
